JUST THINK FIRST! Program
In the beginning, a partnership with Wakefield High School Parent Teacher Student Association and FS Series decided to create a road race on Thanksgiving to help heal a community. Since its inception over ten years ago, the Just Think First 5K Road Race has become a significant fundraiser for the Just Think First! Program. In the past, the event has helped fund teaching videos that tell a difficult story of real students who attended Wakefield High School. Those videos were passed on to High schools all over the united state with a message that was intended to help equip teenagers with tools as they come across those situations.
The Just Think First! Program seeks to raise awareness on various topics that affect teens in society today including violence, sex, drugs, alcohol, gangs and negative peer pressures. Through education, the program was committed in their efforts to provide powerful messages to the students regarding safe and responsible choices they can make.
In past The Just Think 5K has been able to help fund video projects, motivational speakers and various activities planned during the school year to help students make the right choices.
Many volunteering students from Wakefield High play a critical role in the success of the race day and fullfiling the Just Think First! Program mission. When you visit Wakefield High School, you will notice the program's flags, stickers and signs around the school as a daily remider to students to Just Think First!.In past The Just Think 5K has been able to help fund video projects, motivational speakers and various activities planned during the school year to help students make the right choices.
We are currently looking for member of the community to help us re establish this effort. If you are interested in serving as a member of this cause.
