5K Course

Pictures of the course. (Please review before the event)

The Winery Wander 5K course offers a diverse and engaging run as you casually wander the scenic grounds of the vineyard estate. Starting on smooth paved paths, runners will quickly transition onto wood dirt trails that add a crunch to every step. The route then leads into the seclusion of the woods, where the soft earth and natural obstacles provide a tranquil yet challenging trail running experience for part of the event.

Emerging from the woods, the course opens into expansive running fields, offering a brief respite under the open sky. Be prepared for a few short but tricky descents throughout the run.       You will pass by many vine rows, which should be at their peak growing season.  We might even see some active harvesting, typical for the end of September.  You also get spectacular views of the many ponds and the Zinc House.

The course has many turns, so pay attention to the signs. It also utilizes a few gravel roads near parked cars but never wanders onto public roads. This course is designed to challenge the experienced runner and offer a pleasant, relaxing walk through the woods if you want to explore and enjoy the experience.

Please understand that you are running at a winery with hills, grass, gravel, mud, and elevation changes, so this course will challenge you if you are looking for a fast run.  This is also scheduled a bit later to align with the ability to enjoy the location after the event, which means it could be hotter than your usual early morning start.    This is not the Olympics; this is about enjoying the experience and the location.  If you have to walk or slow down, enjoy it.

Pond Crawl (.5 Miles)

If you want to participate in the event and relax on a walk around the property, this event is perfect. It never takes you out of sight of the starting line. Check out the vine rows and see the pond on your way back towards the finish line.
