Overview

We’re excited to announce a NEW SPRING RACE in the Triangle! Introducing the Inaugural NORTH CAROLINA SPRING CLASSIC 8K & 16K — Saturday, April 27th 2019 in Holly Springs! Pick your distance (that’s about 5 or 10 miles for the metrically challenged), and help kick off the inaugural HOLLY SPRINGS FEST, to include vendors, food trucks, beer, and more! Come be a part of a new Spring TRADITION in the “Springs”!
 

The race starts at Sugg Farm Park and finishes downtown, as the festival is starting. Details to follow. REGISTRATION is now OPEN, sign-up NOW for early bird DISCOUNTS!


 

PACKET PICKUP

There are three opportunities for packet pickup, as follows:

We are allowing race-day pickup as a courtesy, but it will be much easier for you if you can get your packet Thursday or Friday.
 
 

START TIMES

16k - 7:15 am
8k - 7:25 am
 

COURSE LIMIT

The race will continue until 9:45 am. This will provide all runners a two 2.25+ hour timeframe to complete the course.
 

FINISH LINE FOOD!

Finish line food will include bottled water from GNC, bananas, mini blueberry muffins (paleo) and mini sun butter protein bars from Living Fit, and chocolate chip cookies from Chic-fil-A
 

AID STATIONS

Each aid station will have both water and Skratch energy drink.

  • 8k Aid station will be located at the entry/exit point to Womble Park
  • 16k Aid stations will be located at Bass Lake, Womble Park, and Chrismill Lane, between the Jones Park and Veterans Park greenways. (Bass Lake will only have water.)
     

PARKING

There will be ample parking at the race START line at Sugg Farm Park (approximately 2 miles from the finish line). Springs Fest will be running a shuttle back and forth from Sugg Farm to the FINISH line (corner of Center St and Main St) starting at 7am, and continuing through Springs Fest (10am - 4pm). The shuttle will hold 69 people, so there may be some waits at times. The NC Spring Classic will be providing an additional shuttle during the run (7:30am - 10am) to facilitate the movement of runners and spectators to and from the start and finish line.
Family and friends of runners may find some limited places to park within a short walking distance from the FINISH line, if they drop off their runner at the START line. (Library/Cultural Center, old Rite-Aid building, HS Elementary School, Jones Park.)


AWARDS

The overall winner will be awarded for both male & female runners in the 8k and 16k. Male and female age group awards for the 8k and 16k for the top 3 finishers in each of the following categories:

19 & Under; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60 and Over
 

BIB TRANSFERS & REFUNDS

Unfortunately, there are no refunds or deferments for any circumstances - we will race rain or shine unless conditions are dangerous.

However, you may transfer your bib to another runner. Bib transfers will need to be done at packet pickup on Thursday and Friday ONLY. Just bring a copy of the original registered runner’s driver license and we will take care of the rest. You may also change from one race distance to another on these two days.
 

T-SHIRTS

Runners will receive a high quality poly blend race shirt. All shirts are unisex so please select your shirt size accordingly.

Please Note: the registration to guarantee your FREE SHIRT was Sunday April 14th! We'll have some extras, but if you registered after the 14th, we can't guarantee size or availability. 
 

RUN THE SPRINGS - RACE SERIES

We are proud to be included in the newly expanded 2019 Run the Springs Race Series. Participants in both events, the 8k and 16k, will be awarded points towards completing the race series to receive the 2019 medal. All 8k finishers will be awarded 5 points, while 16k finishers will be awarded 10 points.
