Small Hands Big Hearts United is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with a mission to nurture children and teen's instinctive compassion to others and the world around them. SHBHU creates community volunteer opportunities called Compassion Missions that are sparked by the minds of Small Handers and Ambassador Teens throughout the Triangle. We also act as a resource for youth to propose, organize and lead Compassion Projects for causes they are personally passionate about locally and globally. These programs are made accessible logistically, financial, without time restraints and without age restrictions. SHBHU has a mission to help nurture the next kind, compassion and philanthropic generation leading the world.

The missions are all sparked by the compassionate minds of these Small Handers and Ambassador Teens for causes they are personally passionate about leading. Compassionate Hearts and Hugs Across Borders Donation:
These Small Handers and Ambassador Teens propose and lead compassion missions across borders in areas such as the Philippines, Haiti, Thailand, Syria, India and the Dominican Republic.
Compassionate Hearts to Tables Donation:
These Small Handers and Ambassador Teens help those who are homeless and hungry. They assist with other nonprofit's missions like Oak City Cares, Meals on Wheels, the North Carolina Food Bank and Catholic Parish Outreach Food Pantry. They provide volunteer support and food through neighborhood food drives, serving in lunch lines and packing and decorating breakfast and lunch "to go" bags monthly.
Compassionate Hearts to Smiles Donation:
These Small Handers and Ambassador Teens show compassion to others by simple acts of kindness. They assist with organizations like Read and Feed, the Skylar's Striders Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Team, Note in the Pocket, the Ronald McDonald House in Chapel Hill and participate in “Buddy Programs” for children with special needs, and Senior Citizens and our US soldiers.
Compassionate Hearts to Others Donation:
These Small Handers and Ambassador Teens lead missions for where they help someone in need including animals and the earth. They have recently expanded this committee to include Footprints for Compassion. They focus on compassion to animals and the environment through leading Compassion Projects for the SPCA of Wake County and missions to reduce NEGATIVE carbon footprints on earth.
