Race Description

This is the second stop of the "Inside-Out Sports 4 City Duathlon Series"

Lewisville: In the mid 1770s, settlers moving westward following the Great Wagon Road from Pennsylvania down into Virginia and then North Carolina frequently stopped over night on the banks of the Yadkin River before crossing the Shallow Ford. A town was born in the 19th century when Moravian settlers blazed a wagon trail across the pastures and established a community here.

Lewisville was named after one of those settlers, Lewis Laugenour, a benefactor who donated lands for development in the central area of town. His home, constructed in the late 1850’s, still stands.

The run will be 3 laps on a 1 mile run course followed by 2 laps for the last segment.  It has rolling hills and remains spectator friendly.

The bike section features rolling hills on country roads through Lewisville's wine vineyards. 

The race course revolves around a transition area located at the Shallowford Square. The same transition area will be used for all phases. The transition area will open at 9am; ALL bikes need to be placed in position before the transition area closes at 10:45am.

The last day to register online for the Winston-Salem Short Course Duathlon is Wednesday, February 3, 2010. On-site registration may be available if this event is not full, but your best bet is to register online.

A $10.00 fee (for USAT race day insurance) will be added if you are not a USAT member.

50% of your entry fee will be refunded until January 23rd, 2010.
