Race Description

Harris Lake County Park

Nuclear Swim is a 1 mile open swim race at Harris Lake County Park. The swim race will take place at 8:00 am from Harris Lake Beach Area.

A 20 minute Open Water Swim Clinic will start at 7:30 am. 

A USAT membership is required to participate in this race. A annual membership is($39.00) or a one day $10 membership. This provides you with additional insurance coverage for each race. You can visit www.usatriathlon.org for more information on memberships.

The 680-acre park is situated on a peninsula located on the Shearon Harris Reservoir. Harris Lake County Park is located in New Hill, N.C. – southwestern Wake County – and is convenient to Raleigh, Cary, Apex, Holly Springs and Fuquay-Varina.

The last day to register online for the Nuclear Swim at Harris Lake presented by Cabinet Connection is Saturday, August 28, 2010. On-site registration may be available if this event is not full, but your best bet is to register online.

A $10.00 fee (for USAT race day insurance) will be added if you are not a USAT member.

Packet Pickup

Saturday, August 28th from 5:00-6:00 pm at TrySports Crabtree Valley Mall

Sunday, August 29th from 6:45-7:30 am.  If you don't arrive by 7:30 am, you will not be able to participate.

Directions

From Raleigh/Cary/Apex:
 
Take U.S. Hwy. 1 South through Cary and Apex. Take the New Hill exit (Exit 89) off U.S. 1. At the top of the ramp, turn left onto New Hill-Holleman Road and go approximately 3 miles, and the park entrance will be on your right. 

From Fuquay-Varina/Holly Springs:
 
Off N.C. Hwy. 55 take Avent Ferry Road away from downtown Holly Springs. Go approximately 5 miles to New Hill-Holleman Road (landmark: large white house on corner). Take a right on New Hill-Holleman Road, cross over Harris Lake, and the park entrance will be on your left.
