Event Day Information

Following is the email that went out to all runners at 3:00pm on May 7

Thank you for registering for the 2020 Mother's Day Classic 5k presented by FS Series and benefitting North East Wake Backpack Buddies. The race will be held at Centennial Plaza in Downtown Wake Forest, NC at 221 Brooks St.; Wake Forest, NC 27587, on Mother's Day - Sunday, May 10, at 8:30am.

PACKET PICKUP and WALK-UP REGISTRATION: ($40 for adults/$35 children under 13 years-old)
Pick up your bib and tee-shirt.
You may pick up a packet for someone else - no IDs are required.
Walk-up registrations will be accepted at packet pickup. Let your friends and family know - we ordered extra medals, so we don't plan on running out! We accept check or cash only.

PARKING AT RACE:
Parking is available throughout Wake Forest. On Taylor St., there is a large public parking lot. Please avoid parking at the lot at businesses, the Renaissance lot, and along the start/finish line area on Brooks Street. 
 
RACE-DAY SCHEDULE:
6:45am - 8:15am: Packet pickup/race-day registration
8:15 - Runners start making their way to starting line
8:20am - 8:30am - Announcements, National Anthem
8:30am - Run start
8:00am - 10:00 am - Runners' Village open
9:30am - 10:00am - Presentation of awards

Strollers and dogs on leashes are welcome on the course, but please line up towards the back.

FINISHER'S GOODIES:
All finishers will get a 2019 Celebrate Your Mother 5k medal, and a delicious sweet treat from Wake Forest's own Gabbie's Goodies and The Lemon Tree! 
 
T-SHIRTS:
You will be given the size t-shirt you selected at the time of your registration. If any t-shirts remain when we close packet pickup at 7:45am on Sunday, you can stop by the FS Series booth to trade sizes.
 
RUNNERS' VILLAGE:
One of the special features of the 5k is our Runners' Village. Please support our sponsors by stopping by their booths and thanking them for helping to make this run a success! After you cross the finish line, get your bonbon or lemon bar, take your kids to get their faces painted or play in a bounce house, then spend time checking out the vendor booths.
 

The Lemon Tree Cafe and Gabbie's Goodies Bring Sweet Treats to Finishers

A huge thank you to The Lemon Tree Cafe and Gabbie's Goodies of Wake Forest for combining forces to give finishers a delicious treat after crossing the finish line on Mother's Day. 

Gabbie's Goodies "is bringing the bonbon back" and hand makes each and every delicious, gluten-free "real food" treat. Look for her Cinnamon Peanut Butter bonbons after the run.

The Lemon Tree will bring their iconic lemon bars. Anyone who has enjoyed the scrumptious food at The Lemon Tree has certainly enjoyed biting into one of these Wake Forest favorites.

What better way to start your Mother's Day than with a little bit of exercise finished off with a SWEET TREAT!
