The Race

The swim will take place in the Heritage Swim Club lap pool located adjacent to the Sales Center.  The transition area will be in the larger parking lot a very short distance from the pool entry.  The bike course is a technical course that will present some nice flats, a few small climbs, and excited spectators.  To finish the race, athletes will enjoy a 5k (3.1 mile) run through the neighborhoods in the northern most parts of Heritage Wake Forest.  There will be a water station at the mid-point of the run.  The race will finish up near the transition area.  Post race snacks and water will be available at the finish line.

The race course revolves around a transition area next to the Heritage Sales Center & Swim Club. The same transition area will be used for all phases. The transition area will open at 5:00 am; ALL bikes need to be placed in position before the transition area closes at 6:45am.

In the News - The BASF Smile Train Triathlon has made the news! Click here to read the story and see the NBC17 video.

smile train The Smile Train is an amazing charity that provides cleft lip and cleft palate repair to children in underdeveloped countries.  They are the worlds largest, most efficient, and most cost-effective cleft charity in the world. Since they began in 1999, they have created over 280,000 smiles around the world; each surgery costing as little as $250!  The Smile Train is a non-profit organization run by a small staff of 13 people.  Together with their Board of Directors, they ensure that every penny of every donation is applied directly to patient programs.  All overhead is paid for with money from their Board of Directors.

Turning Miles into Smiles is a local fundraising program, created by Rebecca Warriner, to raise money for The Smile Train.  Rebecca is currently training for Ironman Louisville, to be held on August 31, and using this opportunity to increase awareness for The Smile Train.  Her goal is to raise at least $10,000 for The Smile Train.  She’s Turning Miles into Smiles one stroke, pedal, and step at a time!
